VoidShips

Using blueprints stolen from his father- Emperor Lucian Matan- and modified by himself, King Meter Matan of Metrian/Metrianda began constructing three VoidShips; The Sun, The Moon, and The Stars. VoidShips are a Founder invention, meant to travel between Elseworlds and The Smoke with ease. They are designed to be completely self-sufficient, host their own civilians, grow their own food, and create their own energy- though they are typically still reliant on and under the control of the Founder Empire or Kingdom that constructed them.

Meter set out to do this differently. While still using most of the core components and following the general core tenants of VoidShip construction- such as a permanent Captainhood, a modified nuclear-engagement energy production system, and the needs for a partner craft(s)- he took the general risk to attempt to craft VoidShips that could house their own independent nation and become entirely self-sufficient. Against all odds, he was wholly successful in this regard.

The only major problem came when Meter, partially through with constructing the first elements of The VoidShips The Sun and The Moon, was executed in 1320- indefinitely halting the construction of the VoidShips. The project was not picked up again until 8910, under the behest of the third cycle of the Chromatic variant of The Council of Dragons, following the stepping down of its head, Yevie Tenebris Purpumtum, and the election of his daughter Bravophae Tenebris Purpumtum as Council Head. Using the remnants crafted by the Matan Kingdom builders and Meter’s blueprints, the third Council was able to fully complete the project. Despite this, they neglected crafting the third of the three sisters- The Stars; instead opting for a modified blueprint (by councilmember Matonus) for the craft. This replaced most of its fleet with highly modified microVships still capable of hosting their own heroes, but using an energy system that leaves them highly reliant on a centralized Elseworld-based government capable of repairing and refueling them. Construction for The Stars began in 9398, in the following year (9399) construction ended on The Moon, and in 9405 Construction ended on The Sun.

The Stars are a fleet of several thousand small vessels capable of comfortably permanently housing 13 crew members. Stars typically summon their own Heroes, though they can be appointed. These 12 heroes use the Overglass or Republican system of Vibrant Colors (RSVC) rather than the Solar System of Metals and Gems (SSMG), Lunar Subtle System (LSS), or the Underglassian Metallic System (UMS). These 12 heroes and one elected “captain” (elected using the Republican Mayoral System) make up the entire crew and population of each Star. The Fleet of Stars are typically commanded by The Mayess of Metrianda- currently Kian Shigar- though according to Meter’s blueprints they are meant to be Captained by a singular individual, following typical VoidShip structures of command, who is physically connected to each ship in the fleet and commands from a central docking structure only slightly smaller than The Moon. This central docking structure was never completed, so Stars typically now dock to Metrianda’s central tower: Whima, previously known as The Perch during the reign of the Council and Eaile under The Matans.

The Moon is a semi-independent VoidShip currently captained by Maldreth Matriad, first elected for the position prior to the completed construction of the ship on 7/8/9398. The Moon is an almost wholly self-sufficient vessel, truly only relying on The Sun for repair and fuel replenishment- which they are actively trying to find a replacement for and a means for true self-reliance. The Sun is a wholly independent VoidShip currently led by Pareidolia Di’or, first elected for the position in 9419, shortly following the assassination of its first captain- Abigail Daisy- and the fall of The Council of Dragons.
