Strawberry Goldenbell

Strawberry Goldenbell (summoned 13 Dedreen 43) is the long running Garnet hero of the Republic of Metrianda city of Yurhn. She has served as the city’s Garnet Hero since its creation in 43 by the Matans. She contributed to Metriandan Independence, Tower City Unification, wider accepted support for Council Insurrectionism, and the creation of The Republic of Metrianda following the fall of The Council of Dragons in 9419. She is considered to be one of Yurnh’s foundational Heroes and mother to the city alongside long-standing mayor Termite Goldenbell, Strawberry’s wife of 6000 years.

Beliefs and Career

Goldenbell is a follower of the Metriandan Independence movement and embraces the movement for a non-unified Underglass and Overglass, citing that the sheer size of the two bodies of land would be difficult to control and maintain and ultimately lead to the third downfall of a powerful government ruling over Metrianda. Her opinion, as stated by Goldenbell, is persuaded by her experiences as a hero under both the Kingdom of Matan and Council of Dragons, both world powers that struggled with insurrectionist movements and coups that ultimately cost both groups their dominance.

During the 1319 attempted raid on Yurhn by the forces of the Tenebris Insurrectionists, Goldenbell was fundamental in keeping the city-state defended and operational and out of the Tenebri’s control as the government of the Kingdom of Matan was subsequently dismantled and executed in 1320. Yurhn was the only Overglass city out of all 13 cities to remain independent and separate from the Council of Dragons until the 4th mayor of Yurnh, a Tenebri sympathist, allegedly handed control of the city over to the Council of Dragons in 3694- against Goldenbell and the other Heroes of Yurhn’s wishes. Yurhn remained under Tenebris control until 9419, where it briefly fell under control of The Moon and The Sun, who held it through The Fall of the Council of Dragons, The Great Reset, and the first two years of the Five Hundred Years War. Allegedly, during that time, Goldenbell, several heroes of Yurhn, acting mayor Termite Goldenbell, and a large group of Yurhnite civilians had traveled to The Underglass, avoiding the deaths upstairs as well as The Great Reset. They returned upstairs in 9423 with their group, as well as the survivors of The Great Reset, an emergency militia, and the newly established Republic of Metrianda’s defacto leaders- Kian Shigar and Finnigan Leagallow. The well-armed collective stormed The Perch/Ealie and pushed The Moon back to the outer cities where it remains to this day. Goldenbell spent the next 20 years fighting on the frontlines of The 500 Years War, being an instrumental figure in the eventual capture of all 13 Overglass cities and dominance of The Republic’s war effort over that of The Moon.

During the recapture of modern-day Whima and several inner cities, including Yurnh, and subsequent destruction of Whima and Zitaf’s towers by The Sun after The Moon defected to the Republic’s side, Goldenbell, Termite Goldenbell, and the Heroes of Yurnh remained in Yurnh evacuating and defending the city’s central tower from the forces of The Sun. Reportedly, the city was “mere minutes” from being destroyed by a group of PWSOW-TITANCLASS that had stormed Yurnh before Goldenbell, the other heroes, and citizens Ozari Burgess and Claus Sunfruit successfully defended the tower and retreated fully back to Robasa. Despite being under Sun Control at the current time, Yurnh’s tower is currently still standing and the mission was deemed successful by Republican forces.

Public Image

Goldenbell has pragmatically allied herself with every dominant power group that takes control over Overglass Metrianda, reportedly as a means to continue caring for her city and civilians. Her continuance as a stable figure in Yurhn society and politics has been a notable factor in the continued stability of the city-state.

A considerable number of honours, memorials and statues have been dedicated to Goldenbell, both in Overglass and Underglass Metrianda- notably for her work in defending the city of Yurnh and in maintaining quality relationships with Underglassian nations despite the sudden cut-off between Overglass and Underglass Metrianda following the start of the 500 Years War.

Various myths have grown out of Goldenbell and her adventures, primarily revolving around her involvement in the defense of the Matans. She has been rumored to be harboring any number of Matan-Era survivors in his city, ranging from the absurd claim that the eldest prince of the Matans survived his execution and is present in Yurnh’s hidden chambers, but also several missing extended family members and members of the Matan Royal Court of Metrianda. None of these rumors have been confirmed, nor has Goldenbell commented on any of them.
