Magnus Illumine

The lowest ranked of all the Court-Holding members of TweleveCourts. Magnus Illumine is the mayor of the peridot city of Ledico, is the Peridot Mystic of The Monger, and is… extremely loud and annoying as you’ve come to find. He is very emotional, prone to screaming fits, strangely weak when compared to his peers (especially those who lack courts), and seems to really only be holding onto his position in TweleveCourts by a technicality: he has a tower, a living concept god, and an accredited gem, Peridot. From your research, Miko, you find that Mystics are really not that well understood. You know they have 2 ranks; Courted and Courtless, and that they hold arcane power, the ability to make Monkeys-Paw like deals, and religious importance. You know that they have some control over things that relate to their Concept God, and that they can be summoned through various rituals- Magnus’s being the shattering of a particular cut of weak Peridot. They are always the same people with the same personalities and memories and everything no matter what history you look at and they predate Metrianda, Escherin, and seemingly the physical world itself, However, beyond that you just can’t be that certain what the express purpose of a Mystic is. In either event, unlike other Courted mystics, Magnus proudly states that he is one, is involved very obviously in political dealings, and seems to value his tower and civilians above all else- not unlike another Mystic you met. While you’ve seen him as this scrambling, loud, strange thing he is widely reported by his constituents and peers to be a very good mayor, typically calm, and sweet. He’s kind. He doesn’t cut deals, he seems to deeply care for the health of his tower and the people of Metrianda- unlike most other mystics he doesn’t have an ulterior motive. Pictured beside his official portrait is a video of him defending his city alongside Moon Heroes, he’s got a huge gun and looks very serious- it’s almost silly.
