Finnigan Matan

The eldest son of Meter Matan and a man impossible to find credible information regarding. The most recent historical documents show a very scared-looking young fluffy-earred fluffy-tailed prince, no more than 15, standing next to his father as he addresses his civilians regarding the Tenebris Coup- flanked on his other side by a nigh-identicial looking young girl, presumably his twin sister Sherrienna. About a month after this video was taken, all Matans in Metrianda were executed by Yevie Tenebris Purpumtum, supposedly including Finnigan. Popular legend claims that the young prince escaped and is still alive as he was not present at his family’s execution and the coup resoundingly states that he was killed in the storming of Robsasa- which is only corroborated by other Tenebrisian agents, there is no physical evidence to prove that he was killed.

Going back in time, however, each group of histories seem to have a variety of different stories play out with The Matans, and Finnigan in particular. He does typically always survive some sort of death that overtakes his family and usually resurfaces some time later. Occasionally he reclaims his throne, other times he’s beside the dragon Tenebris regardless of if he kills his family or not in any particular history, other times they are sworn enemies. Sometimes he lives a quiet life and his identity is only uncovered when he passes, others he reveals himself- sometimes in a bid to retake the Matan Kingdom, sometimes as a confession that had been weighing on his chest, sometimes as means to reconnect with other survivors, and in others its forcibly revealed- often by Tenebris himself. In either case, Miko, you notice an interesting path of development as you organize the history groups by date in accordance with GIVE’s time system; in the oldest documents he’s a horrible man and in the most recent he’s… almost cartoonishly good. The oldest Finnigans are often killed young, and often involved in the deaths of his family. He is charismatic, slimy, selfish, and driven solely by his own desires and wants. He takes and takes, conquers and coups and steals and all the while convinces others that he is someone of high regard, he is his father but better, sterner, he doesn’t forgive or forget. But these younger Finnigans are kinder, gentler, slowly you watch his characterization change and shift from that selfish young man to a big-picture carer. His charisma never leaves him, nor does his secretive nature, but he worries himself more than he worries others. He defends, protects, he takes after his father, and he dies oh so old. For some time he has had a family- a wife, Queen Matya Ruth Matan, two daughters, Lady Charlotte Boaz Matan and Lady Ira Chava Matan, and a son, Prince Samuel Efarim Matan. The last time they appear they die horrible deaths at the hands of a Mayess Kian and Mayess Maldreth and then never again does he marry.

In this most recent history, as stated, he is reported to have died thousands of years ago and has not since resurfaced. Conspiracy states that he is alive, but Founders don’t typically live that long after something that traumatic without a lot of help and a good mentor. Though, Miko, you do notice that he looks a *lot* like… someone else.
