The Moon

The Moon is a massive warship captained by ex-Robasan Hero Maldreth Michelle Matriad. Based on blueprints designed by Meter Matan (who died before the ship could be built) it was completed in 9399 by The Council of Dragons headed then by Bravophae Tenebris. A short election led to Maldreth, then knight of Robasa, being elected to the position of Captain and subsequently stepping down from his hero position to lead the ship. The ship itself is the size of a large country- which it boasts on its back. There are three levels- the bottom-most being Level 1 center of military and defense, Level 2 administration center, and Level 3- the flat top of the ship where the cities of The Moon are built. There are seven cities on The Moon, each connected through a ship-wide tram system, governed by their own elected officials, and summoning their own set of heroes. The Moon, being Matan-Made, has a central manufactured god that inhabits the ship in several planes, cares for it, and functions as a City/Tower God for the entire ship. This goddess, like all tower gods, shares a name with her home, though unlike all tower gods her body is the ship and when it is physically damaged so is she. Her health is also tied to the condition the ship is in, the health of her denizens, and the number of them that exist on her surface. While she is called The Moon she is also the representative goddess of several concepts- primarily Hope, Revolution, Illusions, and Change. Additionally, further separating her from Tower/City Gods, being a Matan-Made ship, every Captain that is chosen to lead her and her denizens must undergo a permanent surgery that removes their frontal lobe (or equivalent organ) to provide a space for the god to inhabit- her only Captain has been Maldreth Matriad.

Prior to The Fall of The Council of Dragons The Moon and The Sun were partner ships, boosted by the fleet of The Stars, and a technical part of Council territory. The Moon and The Sun, under the control of Pareidolia Di’or and Maldreth Matriad following the execution of his daughter Levone Merrit by The Council descended upon The Perch (now Whima) during the election of Metrianda’s Mayess (between Abigail Daisy and Kian Shigar) and began firing- assumably killing every member and nearly killing every person on The Perch that day. For 2 years following The Moon violently took over each Overglass city while The Sun orbited The Perch until they had total control over the entirety of Metrianda- save for a portion of The Underglass where the survivors from upstairs and the attack on The Perch built a resistance party. These forces, which would eventually make up The Republic, stood against constantly violent onslaught from The Moon and The Stars. During year 1, presumably in order to quell the burgeoning resistance, one or all of The Leaders of The Moon and The Sun did *something* that caused the towers of Metrianda to resonate, knock unconscious, and thrust every living individual off of their city platforms- leading to billions of people falling thousands of miles to their deaths against the glass- this event is called The Great Reset and marks the largest loss of life in Metrianda’s documented history. In the following year- emboldened by the massive loss of life under their belts, Pareidolia boldly (yet quietly) lead her forces (with Maldreth acting as a literal puppet leader) into a series of military losses that inevitably lead to a string of strategic wins for The Republic- who quickly took control back of The 13 cities and forced back The Moon. The Sun went into quiet hiding. For the following 500 years The Moon acted as the only target visible and attackable by The Republic and, with The Sun still in hiding, was believed to be the only real force on the other side of the war- The Sun was slowly forgotten about, pinning all blame on The Moon which, for the most part, acted as exclusively a shield, scapegoat, and battering ram for The Sun with little to no control over itself, it’s actions, and its people. Recently, following the abduction of its Captain and a nearly successful attempt by The Sun to destroy The Moon by exploding its generators and sending it careening into Robasa’s tower, The Moon fully abandoned its tumultuous “allyship” to The Sun and sided with The Republic. Since then it has been facing a massive consistent infiltration and abduction problem from all sides.

Citizens of The Moon, despite being widely considered to be miserable backstabbing weak turncoats, are typically extremely loyal to their ship and their officers- there is a very low consensual defectment of civilians and heroes from The Moon to anywhere else- but an abnormally high defectment rate on the flipside. The Moon is a socialist nation, provides a universal basic income to all civilians, free healthcare, and has non-mandatory military service. She utilizes the Lunar Subtle System (LSS) of colors for choosing heroes for her cities, and the 12 color Overglass or Republican system of Vibrant Colors (RSVC) for her levels and personal heroes. Despite originally having supposed to be exclusively an academic ship with no means to defend itself or ways in which to attack others- a long campaign to arm The Moon by its Captain and Master Gunner has lead to the nation having a very well trained military and an almost patchwork-looking but very large catalogue of weaponry and military vehicles. The only thing it lacks is a built in military system. However, as a result of originally being an academic vessel, The Moon boasts the best universities across all of Metrianda and the largest library with the largest collection of information.
