The Emperyon Ocean

The western-most Ocean in Metrianda- currently characterized by pitch-dark waters, a scattering of islets, black-sand beaches, and a high level of pirate activity. The Emperyon Ocean is named after the founder of the Tenebris Empire- Emperyon Tenebris, the current emperor’s grandmother. It is the largest ocean in all of Metriada, spanning nearly a quarter of its circumference, and coming right up to and spilling over the edge of The Elseworld. Its waters are either often rocky and unnavigable or sickeningly still, it’s one of the deepest oceans in Metrianda and is mostly unstudied and explored. Much like Metrianda’s glass, popular legend states that it was once crystal clear and well lit- but evidence to this is lackluster and thin at best.
